Ausley Receives Lighthouse Award

Saint Mary’s County Chamber of Commerce Recognizes Ausley

This week, Ausley received the annual Lighthouse Award from the Saint Mary’s County Chamber of Commerce in recognition of the company’s continued growth, excellence, community involvement, innovation and leadership. The award was presented at the Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business Awards Luncheon, where several companies were recognized for success in the local community.

Ausley, a veteran-owned small business, is Maryland’s premier provider of development and management services for both manned and unmanned aviation systems. Ausley began in 1997 as a twoperson company, and has matured to a 150-employee business successfully managing over 20 national and local contracts with a portfolio exceeding $75 million.

“This is an exciting time for our industry and community,” said Ausley’s founder and Chief Executive Officer Paul Ausley. “We are firsthand witnesses to the convergence of defense technology and an emerging commercial UAV industry that is projected to be an $8- billion-dollar market by 2020. Our community is positioned to be a leader in this market by leveraging our defense business expertise to create a substantial and sustainable commercial business base. I speak for all Ausley employees when I say we are proud to be part of the business ecosystem in St. Mary’s County, honored to receive this award and humbled by the recognition this brings.”

Over the years, Ausley has been recognized for excellence by several organizations. Just recently, Paul Ausley was selected to receive the 2016 Future 50 Award by SmartCEO. The program recognizes the region’s 50 fastest-growing mid-sized companies who have experienced outsized growth based on a combined three-year average of revenue and employee growth.

Ausley is honored to be recognized as an industry leader in Southern Maryland for its work in unmanned aircraft systems and for its continued commitment to building both the local economy and the reputation of Saint Mary’s County as a technology hotspot.
